We are hiring a new Fundraising & Communications Officer! Salary: £21,000
About this position
We are seeking to recruit a full-time Fundraising and Communications Officer as our first staff position at Orchard OCD. The position will be based at our shared office space in Cambridge full time.
This position will build on the successful fundraising we have been doing so far (including a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2020, applications to trusts and foundations, and building our volunteer network).
Key Responsibilities:
1.Fundraising
- Working with the board and volunteers on new virtual community fundraising projects.
- Working with the board and volunteers on digital fundraising campaigns (crowdfunding, Christmas appeal etc).
- Researching suitable trusts and foundations, writing applications and maintaining up-to-date records of deadlines.
- Researching suitable corporate partners and planning pitches to create corporate partnerships.
- Creating a database of supporters from digital fundraising campaigns.
- Claim Gift Aid from HMRC for Orchard.
- Coming up with new fundraising ideas and initiatives.
2.Communications
- Post regularly on the Orchard social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn).
- Work with the board and volunteers to produce regular blogs, webinars and e-newsletters to promote our work.
- Produce monthly social media and website analytics.
- Run the Orchard website.
- Help produce videos about OCD.
- Raise awareness about OCD and reduce stigma related to it.
- Help with general communications and administration.
Essential
- Interpersonal skills – communicates clearly & works well as a part of a varied team.
- Administration skills, including excellent IT literacy.
- Excellent social media skills.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and good practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
Desirable
- Understanding/experience of working in the non-profit or mental health field.
- Copywriting skills.
- Basic understanding of medical research terms & processes
- Basic understanding of design platforms e.g. Adobe Photoshop
- Basic understanding of WordPress
